K. Y. STANLEY LIN

Stanley Lin is a theatre director and photographer, trained in MA Advanced Theatre Practice at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Prior to Central, he received training from a number of directing programmes, including Harvard University and The Juilliard School. He is most known for his idiosyncratic aesthetics through an attention to implication, detail and vision in realising theatrical endeavours, with a particular interest in classical texts. By creating a conversation with them, he hopes the audience not to interpret the production by their prior knowledge, but to have a sense of deja vu, that is, to re-experience the tories and interrogate them from another angle, which might inspire them to go beyond to see how a whole are of living experience that seem close to their own concerns is also close to the concerns of the people in the world around them.

He is Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director of Headdesk Theatre Company. From 2012 to 2015, he was Artistic Director of the Theatre Department at Tainan Holiness Church where he led on 11 original cabarets and directed 8 productions.
